English Language Teacher - USAID/Youth Development Activity (YDA)

Department: Turkmenistan - Youth Development Activity (YDA)

Location: Ashgabat, Ashgabat City

Period of Performance: November 2023 – September 2024

Locations: Ashgabat, Arkadag, Anew, Balkanabat, Dashoguz, Mary, Turkmenabat.

Scope of Work

• Planning and preparing lesson plans that are in line with the curriculum goals.
• Preparing instructional aids and supplemental teaching materials and resources according to the learning objectives and student needs.
• Tracking and monitoring students’ progress using various techniques.
• Preparing and administering curriculum-aligned assessments.
• Implementing new language teaching methods.
• Designing and implementing interactive educational activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelors’ degree in a related field, with at least five years of related professional experience, or an advanced degree with at least three years of relevant experience.
• Excellent communication skills and presentation skills.
• Ability to be flexible and work under pressure, dealing with competing priorities, in a fast-paced team environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and talent for productively interacting with a wide range of students.
• Experience in teaching English for special purposes (business, economics, finance, IT, science) is an advantage.
• Fluency in English is required.
• Fluency in Turkmen or Russian is required.
• Fluency in the above-mentioned three languages is an advantage.
