Job Purpose
- Support the Projects Construction Section in project implementation related to the performance and reliability of plant electrical, instrumentation and control systems, identifying and correcting deficiencies and maintaining equipment and personnel safety.
- Manage instrumentation engineering support during EPIC (Engineering, Procurement, Installation and Commissioning) phases of facilities construction and/or upgrading.
- Develop company project construction documents, guidelines and specifications in accordance with recognized international standards; monitor field and project activities to ensure that all project activities are carried out according to these standards.
- Work with Operations staff to manage simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) and shutdown works during project execution.
- Ensure quality of the work, liaising constantly with Contractor & TPA.
Job Responsibilities
- Review and update Scope of Work (SOW), specifications, data sheets and other documents for instrumentation and control systems on new projects.
- Provide engineering support for all of the electrical, instrumentation and control aspects of new plant design, commissioning, operability and maintainability.
- Provide technical input to be used during the tendering, bidding and contracting process.
- Monitor contractor’s and vendor’s quality of work and HSE performance.
- Review technical concession or deviation requests from contractors or vendors and recommend the appropriate response.
- Maintain complete and proper document control during all project phases, up to and including handover and post-contract follow-up.
- Review Scope of Work (SOW), P&ID, specifications, data sheets, Cause & Effect Chart and other documents for instrumentation and control systems on debottlenecking and modification projects.
- Provide engineering support for all of the electrical, instrumentation and control aspects of project plant modification design, commissioning, operability and maintainability.
- Review, comment on and approve contractor construction documentation, procedures, method statements inclusive of specifications, documents, drawings, P&I diagram, etc. in accordance with applicable codes, standards to ensure project quality and safety.
- Interface with appropriate project entities on relevant Engineering, Procurement, Constructability, Commissioning, Operability and Maintainability matters ensuring that Instrumentation & Control System systems are coherent, compatible and in compliance with stated reliability and availability requirements.
- Review performance of electrical, instrumentation and control systems. Identify deficiencies or areas for improvement in terms of equipment upgrading, replacement or modifications to operating parameters.
- Assist in troubleshooting and coordinate with respective vendors to provide technical solutions.
- Assist Projects department in optimizing the operability, reliability, maintainability and safety of electrical, instrumentation and control system components.

Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical, Instrumentation and Control Engineering
- Minimum of 5 - 8 years of experience in the design, specification, installation, quality assurance, commissioning, operation and maintenance of large oil and gas onshore and offshore projects, with focus on instrumentation and control systems. Minimum of 5 years of experience in Project Management
- Professional membership in an internationally-recognized engineering professional society or association is desirable.
- Experience in oil and gas industry preferred, working overseas in difficult environmental, cultural and climatic conditions.
