U.S. Embassy Opens Applications for Fulbright TEA 2026–2027

The U.S. Embassy is accepting applications for the Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement (TEA) Program 2026–2027. The program offers international teachers the opportunity to enhance their teaching skills, learn new methodologies, and gain a deeper understanding of the United States.

Program duration: six weeks in the U.S., starting in January or September 2027.

Funding includes:

  • round-trip airfare,
  • J-1 visa and medical insurance,
  • university coursework and school-based teaching experience,
  • housing, meals, and daily allowances,
  • pre-departure orientation and program activities.

Eligibility:

  • current secondary school or language center teachers with five or more years of experience,
  • teaching students aged 12–18,
  • residing and working in Turkmenistan,
  • committed to continue teaching after the program,
  • university degree and minimum TOEFL score of 450 (PBT) or 45 (iBT).

Application deadline: Feb. 15, 2026.
