President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Friday took part in the ceremony of laying the second stage of the Arkadag city construction, the official Turkmen media reported.
As part of the event, the Head of state held an expanded outreach meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, during which they discussed improving the social and living standards of the Turkmen people.
The Head of state signed documents on the socio-economic development of Turkmenistan's first city of state importance. President Berdimuhamedov also signed a Decree on celebrating Eid al-Adha in the country on June 28-29-30.
On behalf of President Berdimuhamedov the administrative institutions of the new city were presented with modern vehicles that meet the environmental standards - electric buses, electric cars, municipal vehicles, and specialized service cars. Later, a festive sadaqah was given.
The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made a working trip to the city of Arkadag on Tuesday, during which he learned about the large-scale works carried out in the new city and its surroundings.
