A roundtable dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality and the International Year of Peace and Trust was held at Sukhumi State University, organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia.

The event brought together a delegation from the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, led by Annamukhammet Sardzhaev, Chairman of the Committee on Social Policy and Head of the Interparliamentary Friendship Group, as well as representatives of the Georgian Parliament, university faculty and students, and local journalists, according to the Embassy.

Participants highlighted the importance of Turkmenistan’s neutral status in ensuring regional stability and noted the international community’s support, particularly the UN General Assembly resolution adopted in March reaffirming that support.

The meeting also addressed the role of high-level visits in strengthening bilateral cooperation. At the conclusion of the roundtable, both sides expressed interest in organizing future joint initiatives and events.
