A delegation from Turkmenistan’s textile industry, led by Minister of Textile Industry Nurmuhammet Orazgeldiyev, conducted a working visit to Belgium’s city of Ypres to meet with Picanol, a leading global textile machinery manufacturer, according to the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Belgium.
The meeting highlighted the successful 20-year partnership between Picanol and Turkmen textile enterprises. Turkmen representatives praised the reliability and efficiency of Picanol machinery, citing extensive experience operating the equipment across Turkmenistan’s textile sector. This experience underpins Turkmenistan’s interest in expanding cooperation.
The Turkmen delegation toured the production facilities, where modern weaving machines are developed and assembled, and viewed demonstrations of new equipment.
Turkmenistan expressed readiness to purchase additional weaving machines and upgrade existing equipment to boost production capacity and competitiveness in international markets. Discussions also covered technical support, servicing, and staff training options.
The visit marks a significant step in deepening industrial ties between Turkmenistan and European manufacturers, opening new opportunities for the sustainable development of Turkmenistan’s textile industry.
