Turkmenistan launches Güneşli Children and Youth Center

A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Sunday in Turkmenistan’s capital, Ashgabat, for the construction of the “Güneşli” Children and Youth Center, as reported by Turkmenistan’s state media.

The ceremony was attended by the Chaiman of the Mejlis, members of the Cabinet of Ministers, officials from military and law enforcement agencies, heads and representatives of ministries and sectoral departments, the mayor of Ashgabat, the Chief of Staff of the Halk Maslahaty, the Vice President of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship, university rectors, representatives of public organizations, media outlets, and respected elders.

According to the report, the new observatory at the center is expected to spark children's interest in the fascinating and mysterious world of astronomy and space. It will offer educational programs using state-of-the-art equipment, allowing children to observe stars and learn about the universe.

The event featured performances by cultural and artistic groups, including children’s dance ensembles.

The center will be equipped with all necessary facilities to foster children’s education, creativity, and skills development. The center will host clubs focused on various professions and will feature sports and playground areas, spaces for cultural events, an amphitheater, a traffic safety training ground, and other facilities.
