The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Ukraine organized an environmental cycling tour on Sunday in honor of World Bicycle Day, which is observed annually on June 3.

According to the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Ukraine, the event was held in cooperation with Ukraine’s State Enterprise for the Service of Foreign Missions and took place on Trukhaniv Island, located on the Dnipro River in Kyiv.

Participants rode through the island carrying the national flag of Turkmenistan, covering approximately 17 kilometers. The route included scenic views of lakes, oak and pine trees, and sandy shores.

At the finish line, diplomats from Turkmenistan’s Embassy held informal conversations with Turkmen students who took part in the ride

World Bicycle Day was established by a United Nations General Assembly resolution on April 12, 2018, following an initiative by Turkmenistan. The resolution was adopted with the support of 56 countries.
