Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Belgium, Sapar Palvanov, held talks on Monday with senior Belgian officials to discuss the possibility of establishing high-level contacts between the two countries, according to the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Belgium.

The meetings took place on the sidelines of official events marking Belgium’s National Day, which were attended by members of the royal family, as well as leaders of the Belgian parliament and government.

Ambassador Palvanov met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Prévot, Speaker of the Chamber of Representatives Peter De Roover, Chief of the Royal Household Vincent Houssiau, and Diplomatic Advisor to the Prime Minister, Ambassador Thomas Lambert.

The parties discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations and explored prospects for initiating high-level dialogue that could further enhance cooperation between Turkmenistan and Belgium. Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established in 1995.
