Kyiv Hosts Event Marking National Day of Turkmen Horse

An event dedicated to the National Day of the Turkmen Horse was held Sunday at the Magtymguly Library in Kyiv. The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Ukraine, together with educational institutions and creative groups from the Sviatoshynskyi district of the capital, organized an interactive cultural and educational program titled “The Akhal-Teke Horse: Beauty, Strength and Nobility in Artistic Images.”

The event was held in honor of the National Day of the Turkmen Horse, one of the symbols of national pride of the Turkmen people, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Ukraine said.

During the program, Turkmen youth performed musical pieces on traditional instruments, including the dutar and gijak. The event also featured thematic video screenings and a photo exhibition dedicated to Akhal-Teke horses.

Participants were also presented with Ukrainian-language editions of works by Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov devoted to the famed horses, including “Ahalteke Horse is Our Pride and Glory”, “Swift Step of a Race Horse”, “The Flight of Celestial Race Horses” and “A Horse is a Symbol of Faithfulness and Happiness.”

Magtymguly Library Director Yuliya Lopata, speaking at the event, emphasized the importance of such initiatives in strengthening intercultural dialogue and fostering respect for global cultural heritage among younger generations.

The program also included an interactive quiz titled “Secrets of Akhal-Teke Horses” and a horse drawing master class.
