Türkiye Showcases Culinary Heritage at Ashgabat Reception

The Embassy of Türkiye in Turkmenistan on Thursday organized an event in Ashgabat dedicated to Turkish Cuisine Week.

The gathering took place at the residence of the Turkish ambassador and brought together members of the diplomatic corps, cultural figures, and media representatives. Turkmenistan’s Minister of Culture Atageldi Shamyradov attended the event as the guest of honor from the Turkmen side.

Addressing the participants, Türkiye’s Ambassador to Turkmenistan Ahmet Demirok noted that Turkish Cuisine Week introduces global audiences to Türkiye’s rich gastronomic culture.

The diplomat noted that through events organized by Türkiye’s diplomatic missions, the country shares not only its cuisine, but also its history, hospitality, and values.

Guests of the evening were presented with traditional Turkish dishes reflecting the country’s rich culinary heritage and distinctive national gastronomic traditions.

Turkish Cuisine Week is held annually around the world from May 21 to 27 under the auspices of First Lady of the Republic of Türkiye Emine Erdoğan. The initiative aims to promote Turkish cuisine and preserve the country’s culinary heritage.
