Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz and Deputy Minister of Trade Ömer Volkan Ağar visited the Türkmentextile Expo 2026 international exhibition in Ashgabat and highlighted the importance of trade fairs in advancing economic cooperation between Türkiye and Turkmenistan.
The exhibition, held from June 4 to 6 at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, brings together representatives of the textile industry from Turkmenistan, Türkiye, China, India, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Switzerland, Germany and Italy, Yılmaz said on his official X account.
According to Yılmaz, Türkmentextile Expo 2026 has been included in the list of exhibitions supported by Türkiye’s Ministry of Trade. Ankara views the event as an important platform for strengthening the presence of Turkish companies in the Turkmen market and creating new opportunities for cooperation in the textile sector.
Türkiye and Turkmenistan continue efforts to increase bilateral trade turnover to $5 billion. Trade exhibitions are regarded by both sides as one of the key instruments for expanding business ties between the two countries.
In February 2026, the 12th Turkish Export Products Exhibition was held in Ashgabat with the participation of Turkish Trade Minister Ömer Bolat. In addition, the first Exhibition of Turkmen Export Products was organized in Istanbul in 2025.
During the visit, Yılmaz and the accompanying delegation toured the stands of Turkish companies participating in Türkmentextile Expo 2026. The Turkish representatives also laid flowers at the Baky Şöhrat monument in the Halk Hakydasy Memorial Complex.
The Turkish vice president thanked the Turkmen leadership for its hospitality
