ANZAN Mental Arithmetic Championship of Turkmenistan was held in Ashgabat for children ages 6 to 12. The competition was organized as part of the international exhibition and fair “Kids Expo: Everything for Children,” attracting 121 children from various educational centers across the country.

The championship was organized by the Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan and several major Turkmen companies. The participating children underwent extensive preparation and were initially selected through competitions held at their respective educational centers. The selected students then competed at the regional level and in competitions among branches of educational centers to qualify for the championship.

Among the participating educational centers, students from Kämil Bilim, Altyn Göreç and Zehin ýoly stood out.

The competition results were determined in two categories. First, the top three overall performers were selected from all participants ages 6 to 12. The children were also divided into groups according to age and assessed separately within each age group.

ANZAN mental arithmetic is an educational method designed to develop children’s ability to work quickly with numbers and perform calculations mentally. Through the method, children practice performing various calculations quickly, not only on paper or with a calculator but also mentally. The method helps develop children’s concentration, memory and quick-thinking skills.

The Turkmenistan Championship in ANZAN mental arithmetic has been held for two consecutive years as part of the “Kids Expo: Everything for Children” international exhibition and fair.
