Lee Dal-gon, head of the Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Turkmenistan-Korea met with the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and emphasized the South Korean companies’ interest in implementing fuel and energy projects in Turkmenistan, the country’s official media reported on Monday.
South Korean parliamentary delegation and head of the Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Turkmenistan-Korea Lee Dal-gon and South Korean Ambassador to Turkmenistan Shin Sung-chul attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov touched upon the construction of Arkadag city, stressing the importance of discussing the potential participation of South Korean businessmen in the implementation of industrial and building projects in the second stage of city construction.
The National Leader stated that Turkmenistan is ready to activate and grow trade and economic cooperation in new areas, expressing confidence that this meeting will be an important step in improving bilateral ties.
Lee Dal-gon emphasized the side's interest in the construction of facilities in the second stage of the Arkadag city.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers in charge of the fuel and energy complex also met with the South Korean delegation led by Lee Dal-gon. The sides discussed advanced practices and high technologies, modern scientific and technical innovations in fuel and energy complex of Turkmenistan, cooperation with foreign companies and South Korean business groups.
Later Lee Dal-gon met with the Speaker of Turkmen Parliament Dunyagozel Gulmanova and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The sides expressed satisfaction with the credible development of Turkmen-South Korean dialogue at the highest level.
