Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs Eli Cohen and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov opened the Israeli Embassy in Ashgabat on Thursday, the head of the Israeli Foreign Ministry announced on Twitter.
The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of foreign diplomatic missions and the media.
On the same day, Eli Cohen and Minister Rashid Meredov met to discuss prospects for cooperation in security, energy, technology and agriculture.
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen on Thursday.
