President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived in London on Friday at the invitation of the British side to attend the coronation ceremony of King Charles III of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and his wife, the Queen Consort, the official Turkmen media reported.
During the talks between the Turkmen President and the Ambassador of the United Kingdom in Turkmenistan at Ashgabat International Airport, Ambassador Lucia Wild noted the effective nature of the bilateral partnership and the prospects of mutually beneficial contacts in various fields.
President Berdimuhamedov was warmly welcomed at Stansted International Airport in London by Charles Anderson, British Prime Minister's Special Representative for Trade in Turkmenistan, Baroness Emma Nicholson, and other officials.
At the official reception, Serdar Berdimuhamedov warmly congratulated King Charles III of the United Kingdom on behalf of the people and government of Turkmenistan, and on his behalf, expressing strong confidence that the cooperation between the two countries will continue to develop actively.
King Charles III of the United Kingdom said that he recalls his visit to Turkmenistan, noting that cooperation between UK and Turkmenistan will develop further, and expressed his best wishes to the President of Turkmenistan and the Turkmen people.
Diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the UK were established in January 1992. In 1996 Prince Charles of Wales arrived in Turkmenistan on an official visit.
