More than 20 documents on cooperation between the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan and several state enterprises and private structures of Tajikistan were signed at the Turkmen-Tajik business forum in Dushanbe on May 8, the official Turkmen media reported on Tuesday.
The business forum covered a range of topics, including trade, economics, export, and investment potential. Participants expressed confidence that the agreements reached would enhance trade and economic relations between the two countries and proposed the establishment of joint ventures in Tajikistan and free economic zones.
The first meeting of the Business Council and a joint exhibition of export goods of the two countries was also held, to promote further development of Turkmenistan-Tajikistan relations. Heads and representatives of chambers of commerce, industry, and other relevant structures of both countries were present.
According to the report, for the effective and dynamic development of entrepreneurship in Turkmenistan and Tajikistan favorable legal, economic, financial, and social conditions have been created.
The joint exhibition at the National Library of Tajikistan showcased the achievements of the oil and gas complex, energy, textile industry, construction, architecture, trade and foreign economic relations, and products of dozens of private companies.
The official opening ceremony of the Turkmen-Tajik business forum was held in Dushanbe on May 8.
