President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Tajik President Emomali Rahmon signed a declaration on deepening strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and Tajikistan following talks in Dushanbe, the official Turkmen media reported on Wednesday.
This important document reaffirms the commitment of the two countries to continue to actively develop multi-vector cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats and constructive cooperation within international organizations.
In addition, a package of bilateral documents was signed following the talks between the presidents of Turkmenistan and Tajikistan.
They include:
- Agreement between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on cooperation in the field of healthcare;
- Agreement between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on cooperation in the field of international cybersecurity;
- Agreement between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on cooperation in the field of technical protection of information;
- Protocol between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan on cooperation in the framework of international organizations;
- Agreement between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on cooperation in the field of plant quarantine;
- Agreement between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on cooperation in the field of veterinary medicine;
- "Roadmap" on strengthening cooperation in the field of agriculture between the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan for 20232025;
- Memorandum of Understanding between the Financial Monitoring Service under the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan and the Financial Monitoring Department under the National Bank of Tajikistan on cooperation in financial data exchange related to money laundering, financing of terrorism, and financing weapons of mass destruction proliferation;
- Memorandum of Understanding between the Central Bank of Turkmenistan and the National Bank of Tajikistan;
- Agreement between the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the Customs Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on the organization of exchange of preliminary information on goods and vehicles crossing the customs border;
- Agreement between the Hakimlik of Mary province of Turkmenistan and the executive body of the Khatlon province of the Republic of Tajikistan on the implementation of international and foreign economic relations in the trade, economic, scientific and technical, social, cultural, and humanitarian spheres;
- An agreement between the Khakimlik of Balkan velayat of Turkmenistan and the executive body of the state power of the Soghd oblast of the Republic of Tajikistan on cooperation in the trade and economic, scientific and technical, social and cultural, and humanitarian spheres;
- The plan of joint measures ("Road map") on further expansion of cooperation in the field of activation of multimodal transportation and increase of cargo flow between the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2023-2025;
- Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Industry and Construction Production of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan;
- Memorandum of Understanding on trade cooperation between the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan;
- Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Labor, Migration and Employment of the Republic of Tajikistan on cooperation in the field of labor and employment;
- Memorandum of Understanding between the Agency "Türkmenawtoulaglary" of the Transport and Communications Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan on the development of international road transport;
- Memorandum of understanding between the State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan and the Statistical Agency under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan;
- Memorandum of understanding between the Main State Service "Türkmenstandartlary" of Turkmenistan and the Service for State Supervision of Industrial Safety and Mining Supervision under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan;
- Memorandum of understanding between the Scientific Center for Strategic Studies of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan;
- Memorandum of cooperation between the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan;
- Memorandum between the State News Agency of Turkmenistan "TDH" and the National News Agency of Tajikistan "Khovar" under the Government of Tajikistan;
- Memorandum of Interaction and Cooperation between the National Trade Union Center of Turkmenistan and the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of the Republic of Tajikistan.
