The transmission line, which is under construction, will be able to supply not only Pakistan but also other South Asian countries.

Turkmenistan will start supplying electricity to Pakistan through a power transmission line (PTL) from a power plant in Mary city to the Afghan city of Herat, Neytralnyy Turkmenistan newspaper reported on Friday.

According to the report, the transmission line, which is under construction, will be able to supply not only Pakistan but also other South Asian countries.

Two installations from the General Electric (U.S. company), built at the Mary hydropower plant, can produce up to 3,580,000 kWh of electricity per day.

Work is currently underway to increase the volume of electricity sent along the Serhetabat - Herat - Torghundi and Rabatkashan - Kalainau (Turkmenistan - Afghanistan) routes.
