President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a phone conversation during which Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated Shavkat Mirziyoyev on his victory in the early presidential election in Uzbekistan, the press service of the President of Uzbekistan reported on Monday.
During the conversation, the two sides discussed developing strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, as well as expanding multifaceted cooperation.
The sides noted the importance of developing comprehensive cooperation and promoting practical interaction projects. The Presidents also emphasized the steady growth rate of trade turnover between the two countries.
The National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also congratulated Shavkat Mirziyoyev on his election victory and wished prosperity and well-being to the Uzbek people.
On July 10, incumbent Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev won an early presidential election with 87.5% of votes.
