Turkmenistan Increases Imports of Non-oil Goods From Iran by 103%

The total amount of non-oil exports from Iran to Turkmenistan through the Lotfabad border crossing in Khorasan-Rezavi province in the first quarter of this year (March 21-June 21 period according to the Iranian calendar) increased by 103% compared to the same period last year, IRNA news agency reported citing a statement by Lotfabad customs chief Gurban Karimi.

According to the report, goods worth $77.53 million (107,500 tons) were exported to Turkmenistan this spring, up $38.17 million compared to the same period last year.

Building stones, construction materials, cargo, and food products such as pasta are the main commodities exported from Iran to Turkmenistan.

On June 17, Iranian and Turkmen businessmen at the "Export and Trade Opportunities of Iran and Turkmenistan" conference at the Mashhad Chamber of Commerce reviewed the expansion of trade opportunities.
