Turkmen President Pardons 1,180 Convicted Citizens on 32nd Independence Anniversary

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov during the online cabinet meeting on Friday signed a Decree on pardoning 1,180 convicted citizens on the occasion of Turkmenistan's 32nd Independence Anniversary.

Addressing the Secretary of the State Security Council, Minister of Defence Begench Gundogdiyev, the Turkmen President instructed to carry out necessary work together with the heads of law enforcement agencies to release the pardoned convicts and to reunite them with their families in the very near future, the country’s official media reports.

President Berdimuhamedov wished the pardoned citizens to make a worthy contribution to the large-scale activities carried out in the country, to serve Turkmenistan and enjoy the fruits of their labor through their honest work.

The government meeting also discussed topical tasks of the country's socio-economic development and considered draft documents.
