The total amount of transactions concluded in foreign currency at the auctions of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan (SCRMET) over the past week amounted to over $8 million, the country’s official media reported on Monday.
The Chinese businesses purchased technical iodine of Türkmenhimiýa (Turkmen Chemicals) State Concern, while the Afghan businesses procured polypropylene of Türkmennebit (Turkmen Oil) State Concern.
The companies from the UAE, Türkiye, Armenia, Uzbekistan and the Kyrgyz Republic bought smooth-dyed and jacquard terry products, bed linen sets, men's shirts, rolled absorbent cotton, cotton yarn, denim fabric and regenerated fiber from textile waste.
For the domestic market, Turkmen businesses purchased polypropylene worth more than 2.88 million manats.
Last week, 16 deals were registered at the SCRMET trades.
