The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, speaking at the meeting of the heads of delegations of the Central Asian countries and the German Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations in Berlin on Friday, urged German business to cooperate in the spheres of transportation and communications, the official Turkmen media reports.
The meeting, chaired by Cathrina Claas-Muehlhaeuser, Chairman of the committee and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Claas, was also also attended by President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
"For a number of years we have successfully worked with German companies, which participated in the implementation of projects to expand cellular network services, satellite systems and maritime transport" Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said.
The National Leader of the Turkmen people additionally declared Ashgabat's readiness to substantive discussion with German companies on the development of railway transport, shipbuilding equipment, effective use of transport and logistics capabilities of the Turkmenbashi seaport, opening new forms of cooperation in the field of telecommunications.
The Halk Maslakhaty Chairman also invited German companies to participate in projects on digitalization of Turkmen economy.
Speaking at the meeting, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also reiterated Turkmenistan's firm position on gas supplies to Europe through the construction of the Trans-Caspian gas pipeline and offered German business partnership in the fields of electric power and renewable energy sources.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who is on a working visit to Berlin, on Friday also took part in a meeting of heads of delegations in the Central Asia-Germany format.
