The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made a working trip to the capital on Tuesday. During the trip, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received report on the Islamic Development Bank's (IsDB) proposals to finance the construction of international cancer centres. These centres are planned to be built in Mary, Balkan and Lebap provinces, the official Turkmen media reports.
The National Leader of the Turkmen people visited the construction site of International Scientific-Clinical Centre of Physiology. He inquired about the construction of various buildings in Ashgabat and Arkadag city, as well as in other regions of the country. He also got information the characteristics of the materials used and the location schemes of the new buildings.
Members of the government, heads of relevant ministries and departments, as well as representatives of foreign construction companies working in Turkmenistan attended the presentation of projects and layouts of various facilities.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasised the need to continue cooperation with IsDB and of regular implementation of joint projects and gave specific instructions to the relevant managers in this regard.
The presentation included the projects of modernisation of the Akhal-teke Equestrian Complex of the President of Turkmenistan and new facilities planned to be built on its territory, as well as the project of a modern power plant with a capacity of 1574 megawatts to be built in Balkan province.
Then Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with Turkish businessman Ahmet Çalık. They discussed the current state of works carried out by Turkish partners and prospects for further co-operation.
On Monday, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a Decree authorising the State Committee for Construction of Arkadag city to conclude contracts with local construction enterprises for the design and construction of facilities and structures in Arkadag with the improvement of adjacent territories.
