Turkmenistan Expresses Condolences to Kazakhstan's Leader After Mine Fire

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, sent deep condolences to President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in connection with the numerous human casualties and injuries resulting from the fire at the Kostenko mine in the Karaganda region of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the official Turkmen media reported on Saturday.

On behalf of the people and the government of Turkmenistan, as well as on his behalf, the President of Turkmenistan and the National Leader of the Turkmen people expressed empathy and support to the families and friends of the victims at this difficult time and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

In a formal statement, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed deep sorrow upon receiving the news of the fire at the Kostenko mine in the Karaganda region of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The incident has resulted in a significant loss of human lives and injuries. The President acknowledged the gravity of the situation and extended his empathy to those affected by the tragedy. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan, the death toll has reached 42, with four miners still reported as missing. The situation is being closely monitored, and rescue operations are ongoing.
