Ahead of the 10th-anniversary summit of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS), the Council of Foreign Ministers of the OTS met in Astana on Friday, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry reports.
The event was attended by the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, Hungary, and Turkmenistan, along with the secretaries general of the OTS, TurkPA, and TURKSOY. Also in attendance were the presidents of the Turkic Academy, the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, the Turkic Investment Fund, and the chairman of the OTS Council of Elders.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the preparations for the upcoming Summit of the Heads of State of the OTS. They approved the signing of the final projects of documents during the event.
The Organisation of Turkic States was founded in 2009 in Nakhchivan, Azerbaijan, at the initiative of Kazakhstan. The Secretariat of the OTS is located in Istanbul, Türkiye. The Organisation comprises Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye and Uzbekistan. Hungary and Turkmenistan participate as observers.
The Organisation of Turkic States (OTS) convened its 10th summit in Astana on Thursday, with Kasym-Jomart Tokayev leading the event. At the summit, the National Leader of the Turkmen people expressed Turkmenistan's aspirations to address the challenges concerning natural gas supplies through the Caspian Sea in collaboration with Türkiye and Azerbaijan soon.
