Slovakia expressed interest in expanding the activities of the Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation with Turkmenistan, as reported by Trend on Sunday. The Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic intended to strengthen economic ties with Turkmenistan and expressed the willingness to conclude a new agreement. The purpose of this agreement is to enhance the economic partnership further and expand cooperation between the financial entities of both countries.
Over the last ten years, Slovakia has primarily exported machinery, measuring instruments, and electrical generating sets to Turkmenistan, according to the report. At the same time, imports from Turkmenistan to Slovakia during this period were represented exclusively by textile and cotton products.
In late June this year, Speaker of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic to Turkmenistan Viktor Boretsky discussed promising areas of bilateral cooperation, taking into account the priorities of state development of both countries.
