Balance of Loans of Turkmenistan Banks Exceeds 86.4 Billion Manats

As of October 1, 2023, the total amount of loan balances allocated by credit institutions of Turkmenistan to enterprises, organisations and population in national currency amounted to more than 86 billion 448,21 million manats. 

The total amount of credit balances, as of October 1, 2022, exceeded 88 billion 448,21 million manats, as reported by the e-magazine Bank Habarlary (Bank News) published by the Central Bank of Turkmenistan.

As of October 1 this year, the amount of loan balances allocated to state institutions and enterprises amounted to over 53 billion 391 million manats. On October 1, 2022 such loan balances totalled more than 58 billion 206 million manats.

According to the Central Bank statistics, as of October 1, 2023 the amount of loan balances provided to non-state companies and organisations in national currency totalled 12 billion 359 million manats, a 4,1% percent increase compared to the same period of 2022 (11 billion 870 million manats).

Moreover, the total amount of loan balances provided to citizens and non-state entrepreneurs in national currency as of October 1, 2023, amounted to more than 20 billion 732 million manats, which is 14,9%  percent more compared to same period of 2022. In September 2022, this figure stood at 18 billion 40 million manats.

The total amount of non-cash transactions via bank cards in Turkmenistan from January to September 2023 exceeded 12.87 billion manats.
