January-November: Turkmenistan's Merchant Marine Fleet Increases Cargo Traffic By 21.6%

The total volume of cargo transportation by vessels of the Merchant Marine Fleet of Turkmenistan for January-November 2023 increased by 21.6 percent (2.064 million tonnes) compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

During the first six months of 2023, the fulfilment of the cargo transportation plan reached 129.4%, the press service of the Merchant Marine Fleet reported on Tuesday.

Cargo turnover amounted to 867.149  million tonne-kilometers for the corresponding period, 19.1% higher than in 2022.

During the reporting period, the cargo turnover plan was fulfilled by 228.9 percent, and the number of containers transported was 3,846 TEU, with a growth rate of 277.3 percent.

The passenger turnover for the corresponding period increased by 56.4 percent compared to last year, reaching 8.540 million passenger kilometres. The passenger turnover plan was achieved at 245.9 percent. 

The total volume of cargo transportation for January-October 2023 by vessels of the Merchant Marine Fleet of Turkmenistan increased by 23.8 percent (1.884 million tonnes) compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
