Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived on a working visit to St Petersburg, Russian Federation, to attend the informal Summit of the Heads of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) on Tuesday, the official Turkmen media reports.

President of Russia Vladimir Putin, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan have also attended the meeting.

The informal summit began with a tour of St Petersburg's palace and park complexes. In the afternoon, the summit participants arrived at the Pavlovsk Museum reserve, and then they were expected at Tsarskoye Selo and Peterhof, the Interfax reports.

The CIS informal summit will conclude with a talk at the Konstantinovsky Palace in Strelna.

Due to its neutral status, Turkmenistan, as an associate member of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), is fostering relationships with member states of the CIS on an equal, mutually beneficial basis, considering each party's shared goals and national interests, the official Turkmen media reports.

Turkmenistan maintains a solid commitment to strategic partnerships with CIS countries, both bilaterally and multilaterally. The country strives to strengthen mutually beneficial relations within the Commonwealth by infusing them with new, concrete content.
