The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with Baykar Makina Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. General Director Lütfü Haluk Bayraktar and BMC Otomotiv Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. Board of Directors Fuat Tosyalı in Ashgabat on Tuesday, the official Turkmen media reports.
During the exchange of views, the participants discussed the possibilities of further enhancing mutual relations in defence, aiming to raise cooperation to a qualitatively new level. Taking into account the huge economic potential of the two countries, the sides evaluated the proposals from Turkish companies, which hold a prominent position in the global defence industry and reached relevant agreements.
Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasised that the visit of Turkish business representatives will contribute to expanding cooperation with Turkmenistan.
The Turkish businesspeople expressed their pride in the comprehensive reforms introduced by Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and continued under the leadership of Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in independent and neutral Turkmenistan. They affirmed their willingness to expand cooperation in various fields, including enhancing Turkmenistan's defence power.
The business representatives further emphasised that supplying Turkmenistan with samples of high quality and widely demanded products manufactured by their companies would be a worthy contribution to further strengthening of partnership relations.
According to the report, Turkmenistan is successfully implementing reform programmes for the continuous modernisation of the material and equipment base of the National Army in compliance with the defence-only Military Doctrine.
At the end of the meeting, the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Turkish business representatives expressed confidence in further strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation.
