President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov hosted Stefano Pontecorvo, the head of the Italian company Leonardo S.p.A, in Ashgabat on Tuesday. During the meeting, Pontecorvo affirmed his company's commitment to strengthening the fruitful relations with Turkmenistan.

As reported by Turkmenistan's official media, Pontecorvo highlighted the sustained interest of Italian business circles in fostering mutually beneficial ties with Turkmenistan.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov acknowledged Italy as an important partner for Turkmenistan in Europe, expressing confidence that the ongoing negotiations during Pontecorvo's visit to Ashgabat would contribute to expanding effective business cooperation.

In discussions on priority cooperation areas, both parties recognized the crucial role of productive contacts between Turkmenistan and Italian companies in trade, economic spheres, energy, and other industries, emphasizing their significant contribution to strengthening constructive interstate dialogue.

The potential of satellite communications was also explored, with Turkmenistan expressing readiness to consider specific proposals from Leonardo S.p.A.

At the conclusion of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Stefano Pontecorvo affirmed the mutual readiness of Turkmenistan and the renowned Italian company to further develop long-term, mutually beneficial business ties.
