Afghanistan expresses support for broadening trade relations with Turkmenistan, as reported by Zabihullah Mujahid, the Afghan government’s press secretary, on Wednesday, according to TOLOnews.
During the visit to Afghanistan, the Turkmen delegation held negotiations with representatives from the country's financial, commercial, and transit sectors, Mujahid stated.
The discussions between the two nations focused on preventing double taxation, enhancing trade connections, and promoting investment.
A meeting between high-level tax delegations from both countries is scheduled to take place soon, according to the report.
Last year, the foreign trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Afghanistan reached $481 million. Afghanistan's major imports from Turkmenistan include electricity, gas, oil, as well as marble, dried fruits, and soft drinks.
