Representatives from Turkmenistan's business community visited industrial facilities within the Astana Technopolis Free Economic Zone (FEZ) in Kazakhstan from February 19 to 23, 2024, as part of a business mission. During the visit, they expressed interest in the possibility of establishing textile and construction bitumen production within the FEZ, with potential opportunities for selling these products in Kazakhstan.
The Turkmen delegation included representatives from the textile industry and manufacturers of construction materials, as reported by the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Turkmenistan on Friday.
During the business tour, Turkmen entrepreneurs met with the management of the Department for Investments and Entrepreneurship Development of Astana, as well as representatives from Astana Invest - the City Investment Development Center and Astana Development Center.
Throughout the meetings, Turkmen businessmen received information about the mechanisms for implementing investment projects, both within the capital's special economic zone and through investment contracts.
Turkmen and Kazakh entrepreneurs discussed a wide range of topics related to investment cooperation, construction, chemical production, and innovation. The Kazakh side expressed readiness to provide comprehensive support to Turkmen counterparts in realizing investment projects.
Turkmen entrepreneurs also met with the leadership of the National Company Kazakh Invest and the JSC "Center for Trade Policy Development QazTrade," conducting B2B meetings with Kazakh businessmen.
The ongoing efforts to enhance Kazakh-Turkmen trade, economic, and investment cooperation will include the organization of a business mission to Almaty, Shymkent, Aktau, and Astana in the near future.
