JICA Proposes Turkmenistan Customs Collaboration for Trans-Caspian Corridor Development

Turkmenistan's State Customs Service delegation met on March 7, 2024, with Kenji Ogasahara, the head of the Japanese delegation and Director of JICA's East and Central Asia and Caucasus Department. During the meeting, Kenji Ogasahara proposed collaboration on customs matters to enhance the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Corridor.

As reported by the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan on Saturday, the parties also discussed issues related to customs procedures carried out at the Turkmenbashi International Seaport.

Furthermore, the participation of representatives from the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan in training programs organized by JICA was addressed.

In turn, the Japanese delegation invited representatives of the State Customs Service to participate in the Master Trainer Program, a training initiative conducted jointly by JICA and the World Customs Organization.
