The Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan (TULM), an open joint-stock company, is proposing special preferential rates for container shipments from the Georgian ports of Poti and Batumi to select cities in Turkmenistan via the Turkmenbashi International Seaport along the international multimodal route CASCA+, TULM reported on Tuesday.

According to the Transport and Communications Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, the prices do not include customs export/import procedures, security, insurance, first mile, and port charges at the ports of Poti and Batumi, as well as THC.

Furthermore, if the cargo weight along with the container exceeds 22 tons, an additional fee of $50 per container is levied.

According to the report, in case of changes (indexation) in railway tariffs, the rates will be adjusted accordingly. The rates do not include payment of penalty sanctions that may arise during transportation not due to the fault of the freight forwarder or railway, but due to the fault of the shipper/consignee.

The preferential rates set by TULM do not apply to the transportation of oil and petroleum products, plant products, and hazardous goods.
