A delegation from Turkmenistan, led by Deputy Chairman of the State Concern Türkmengaz, Myrat Archayev, participated in a session of the Turkmenistan-EU Energy Working Group in Brussels on April 12, 2024.
The Turkmen delegation included representatives from the Türkmennebit (Turkmen Oil) State Concern, Türkmenenergo State Electric Power Corporation, and the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Brussels, as reported by the Turkmenistan Embassy in Belgium.
Representatives from the European Commission's Directorate-General for Energy, European External Action Service, Directorate-General for International Partnerships, Directorate-General for Climate, and Directorate-General for Trade also participated from the EU side.
During the meeting, discussions centered on diversifying Turkmen gas supply routes, opportunities for practical collaboration in methane emission reduction, and enhancing renewable energy installations and energy efficiency.
The Turkmen delegation highlighted achievements in the national energy sector, its legal framework, efforts in diversification, commitment to sustainable and environmentally friendly energy measures, and a solar energy project.
Additionally, on the same day, the delegation, led by Deputy Chairman of the Türkmengaz (Turkmen Gas) State Concern, Myrat Archayev, met with the Chief of Staff of the European Commissioner for Energy, Stefano Grassi.
