In the second working day of the 38th session of the Conference of heads and responsible representatives of railway transport enterprises of the Organization for Cooperation of Railways (OSJD) Member States, participants agreed to continue their efforts to expand cooperation in the railway sector and deepen mutual understanding among railway enterprises of OSJD member states.
As reported by the Demiryollary State Association on Tuesday, leaders and specialists from relevant departments and railway administrations from over 20 OSJD member countries, including Turkmenistan, are participating in the representative forum held at the Yyldyz Hotel in Ashgabat.
The forum aims to coordinate railway transport activities at the interstate level, ensure technological unity of the international railway network, and harmonize infrastructure development.
According to the report, discussions on the agenda items will contribute to increasing freight traffic along the North-South and East-West transport corridors, as well as expanding types of cargo transportation.
During the session, participants will discuss the results of the OSJD Commissions' activities for 2023 on freight and passenger transportation, infrastructure and rolling stock, encoding and informatics, as well as the Organization's work plans for 2025, along with other agenda items.
The forum is expected to witness the signing of several bilateral documents between the railway authorities of Turkmenistan and OSJD member states, including a Protocol aimed at strengthening productive cooperation for the collective well-being and progressive development.
The 38th session of the Conference of heads and responsible representatives of railway transport enterprises of OSJD Member States will continue until April 19.
