Russian Railways Representative Supports Moscow-Ashgabat Passenger Route Revival

Deputy Chief of the Department of Foreign Projects and International Cooperation of Russian Railways, Lyudmila Renne, expressed her support for the idea of restoring the previously popular railway passenger route Moscow - Ashgabat. The announcement was made during the sidelines of the meeting of the Council of Managing Directors and Responsible Representatives of Railway Transport of CIS Countries in Ashgabat, as reported by TASS on Tuesday.

Renne also expressed gratitude to the leadership of Turkmenistan for the excellent organization of the event. She noted that Turkmenistan actively participates in the work of the OSDJ and currently holds a leading position in participation in agreements and contracts.

Established in 1956, the OSDJ includes several countries that play a significant role in the Eurasian transportation and logistics market, including Russia. The organization coordinates national strategies in railway transportation, resolves legal issues, and addresses other problems related to railway transport. Turkmenistan joined the OSJD in 1994.

The 38th session of the Conference of heads and responsible representatives of railway transport enterprises of OSJD Member States began on April 15 of the current year and will continue until April 19
