President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, will participate in the military parade commemorating the 79th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945 as an honorary guest, according to the Administration of the President of Russia.
The parade will also be attended by President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Thongloun Sisoulith, and President of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau Umaro Sissoco Embaló.
Together with the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, the heads of state will participate in the wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
As reported by TASS on Monday, the leaders of the CIS countries will arrive in Moscow on May 8 and participate in a friendly dinner organized by Russia, said Yuri Ushakov, an assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, at a briefing.
Ushakov said that after the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) summit on May 8, the presidents of Tajikistan and Turkmenistan will join its participants - the leaders of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Uzbekistan.
The parade commemorating the 79th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War will take place on Red Square in Moscow on May 9.
