During his working visit to Kazan on Thursday, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, held separate meetings with Konstantin Kosachev, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, Mintimer Shaimiev, State Counselor of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Grigory Karasin, Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, reports Turkmenistan's official media.
Meeting with Konstantin Kosachev, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation:
During the meeting, Konstantin Kosachev highlighted the importance and relevance of the initiatives put forward by Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at the annual meeting of the Strategic Vision Group "Russia - Islamic World". It was noted that the practical implementation of constructive proposals aims to give a decisive impulse to the long-standing interstate relations within the framework of "Russia-Islamic World".
Expressing gratitude for the kind words, the National Leader of the Turkmen people emphasized that Turkmenistan views this cooperation format as a unique platform for building long-term partnerships with all interested states.
Meeting with Mintimer Shaimiev, State Counselor of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation:
Shaimiev emphasized the importance of the participation of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, at the XV International Economic Forum "Russia-Islamic World: KazanForum 2024" and emphasized the relevance and demand for the proposals put forward by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, including the development of the "Islamic initiative for peace, understanding, and trust".
The participants expressed satisfaction with the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation across various domains, particularly in the oil and gas sector, shipbuilding, chemical industry, aviation equipment and truck supplies, and expressed their support for the full utilization of all opportunities to unleash the enormous potential for the development of trade and economic relations.
Meeting with Grigory Karasin, Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs:
The Chairman of the Federation Council Committee also noted that following the visit of the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty to the Russian Federation, an Agreement on the Establishment of an Interparliamentary Commission on Cooperation was signed, which became an important practical step towards strengthening fruitful relations between the legislative bodies of the two friendly countries.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the development of constructive dialogue with Russia and the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation is among the priority vectors of Turkmenistan's neutral foreign policy course.
During his visit to Kazan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also participated in the annual meeting of the Strategic Vision Group "Russia - Islamic World" and the Russia Halal Expo exhibition.
