The Turkmen delegation, led by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov, participated in the ministerial conference in the format of "Central Asia - Italy" on May 29, 2024, in Rome, Italy.
As reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the conference saw the participation of foreign affairs leaders from Central Asian nations, Italy, and representatives from the European Union.
In his speech, Rashid Meredov emphasized the high role of Turkmen neutrality as an effective tool for promoting peace and stability, paying special attention to issues of regional security, ecology, transportation, water resource management, and cultural-humanitarian cooperation.
The heads of foreign ministries discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation on the international arena, in particular, in matters of preserving and strengthening regional and global stability.
Furthermore, the forum featured three sessions covering "Energy Transition and Global Challenges," "Connectivity," and "Higher Education and Knowledge Networks." During the sessions, the parties expressed readiness to cooperate systematically within the framework of the "Central Asia - Italy" format.
