National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with executives from several foreign companies in Ashgabat on Tuesday, the official media of Turkmenistan reports.
Meeting with Erman Ilicak, Chairman of Rönesans Holding
During the meeting, the sides had a thorough exchange of views on the current state of cooperation, and identified promising areas for development. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow expressed Turkmenistan’s readiness to consider specific proposals from Turkish partners to expand cooperation in the oil and gas sector.
Meeting with Ismadi Bin Ismail, CEO of PETRONAS Carigali (Turkmenistan) Sdn Bhd
Discussions focused on opportunities to enhance and develop new areas of cooperation, considering Turkmenistan’s ongoing economic development programs, major industrial projects, and the creation of favorable business conditions. The National Leader highlighted the joint activities between Turkmenistan and PETRONAS in training specialists for the oil and gas industry and confirmed the country’s commitment to furthering the bilateral dialogue across a wide range of areas.
Meeting with Ahmet Çalık, Chairman of Çalik Holding
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the power plant under construction by Çalik Holding on the Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea, with a capacity of 1,574 megawatts, would facilitate the supply of Turkmen electricity to neighboring countries, including Türkiye, and other destinations. The meeting highlighted the broad opportunities for cooperation in the oil and gas sector.
Meeting with Ali Rashid Al-Jarwan, CEO of Dragon Oil
The meeting noted that Turkmenistan and the UAE are among the richest countries in the world in terms of natural gas and oil reserves and have extensive experience in developing the oil and gas industry. Discussing the economic development programs and industrial reforms underway in the country, as well as the favorable business conditions, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed readiness for further productive cooperation with Dragon Oil.
