Turkmenistan is ready to consider the possibility of negotiating with Chinese companies on railway investment projects.
According to the Türkmendemirýollary State Agency, this statement emerged during an online meeting on Wednesday between the heads of Türkmendemirýollary Agency and China State Railway Group Co., Ltd.
Turkmenistan is also prepared to discuss with China the purchase of rolling stock units, increasing freight container transportation, and establishing close coordination between the national logistics operators of both countries.
The heads of railway administrations discussed the modernization of Turkmenistan's transportation infrastructure, the creation of service centers, training of specialists, and the preparation of a regulatory framework for implementing prospective projects in the industry, according to the statement.
Following the negotiations, the sides signed a memorandum of understanding. Azat Atamyradov, Chairman of the Türkmendemirýollary Agency, and Liu Zhenfang, Chairman of the Board of Directors of China State Railway Group Co., Ltd. signed the document.
