Turkmenistan Widely Celebrates Eid al-Adha
Celebration of Eid al-Adha in Turkmenistan

Turkmenistan is actively celebrating the Eid al-Adha holiday, with festivities taking place in the capital, Ashgabat, and throughout all provinces.

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov warmly congratulated the Turkmen people on the sacred Eid al-Adha, celebrated throughout the Muslim world, the official media of Turkmenistan reports.

“In the year dedicated to the ‘Ocean of Wisdom of Magtymguly Pyragy,’ the three-day celebration of Eid al-Adha is held at the state level across various venues, cultural and entertainment centers in the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag, and in all settlements, where bright musical and song celebrations and socio-cultural events are organized,” the Head of State noted.

In his congratulatory message, the President of Turkmenistan emphasized that this year, on the occasion of the holiday, Turkmenistan sent a large group on a pilgrimage to participate in the Hajj.

On the first day of Eid al-Adha, people across the country offered prayers and held celebrations in all regions.

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, during an online Cabinet of Ministers meeting, signed a decree declaring June 16–18, 2024, as Eid al-Adha holidays and moving the day off from June 16 to Wednesday, June 19.
