On July 5, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular Cabinet of Ministers meeting via a digital system, where current issues concerning the country's vital activities were discussed.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers H. Geldimyradov reported on the ongoing work aimed at the broad application of the digital system in various sectors of the economy and improving the quality of banking services through innovative technologies.
As reported, the "Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the Socio-Economic Development of the Country for 2019-2025" outlines measures to increase the volume of loans issued based on online applications and to improve credit operations in real-time.
In this context, the vice-premier presented the capabilities and advantages of the "Digital Credit" system for individuals, developed by the Joint-Stock Commercial Bank of Turkmenistan "Halkbank." This service provides for remote customer service via the Internet, including the creation of benefits using a digital system for banks to process loans for citizens.
After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted with satisfaction that the digital system is being widely implemented across all sectors of the economy, with close attention paid to improving the quality and range of banking services. Approving the proposal to introduce the "Digital Credit" system for individuals by the Joint-Stock Commercial Bank of Turkmenistan "Halkbank," the President instructed the vice-premier to carry out the necessary work in this direction.
