During an expanded Cabinet meeting in Turkmenistan on July 12, Vice Prime Minister H. Geldimyradov reported on the macroeconomic indicators for January-June 2024.

As reported by the official media of Turkmenistan, practical measures implemented during this period to maintain stable development across all sectors of the economy and regions ensured a sustainable GDP growth rate. 

In the industrial complex, this rate stood at 3.6 percent, construction at 9.3 percent, transportation and communication sector at 7.3 percent, trade at 7.8 percent, agriculture at 5.8 percent, and services sector at 7.9 percent.

Overall, the volume of produced goods compared to the same period in 2023 increased by 11.5 percent.

Retail turnover for the first half of the year compared to the same period last year grew by 11.1 percent.

The average wage size at large and medium-sized enterprises in the country increased by 10.4 percent compared to the same period in 2023. Salaries, pensions, state benefits, and student scholarships were fully and timely financed over the six months.
