Turkmenistan, South Korea Discuss Direct Flight Launch

Turkmenistan’s Deputy Prime Minister for Construction and Industry, Baymyrat Annamammedov, held talks with South Korea’s Minister of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport, Park Sang-woo, to discuss the launch of a direct flight route between the two countries in 2025.

According to official Turkmen media, the discussions also covered the participation of South Korean companies in major construction projects, including the Ashgabat City development.

Park Sang-woo emphasized South Korea’s readiness to support Turkmenistan’s industrial projects by offering advanced technologies.

During his visit, Park also met with Deputy Prime Minister for Oil and Gas, Batyr Amanov, where they discussed joint initiatives ahead of the Korea-Central Asia Summit scheduled for 2025.

Additionally, Park held talks with Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister, Rashid Meredov, where they explored the use of South Korean technologies to modernize Turkmenistan's railway infrastructure and the construction of a gas processing plant based on the country’s natural resources.
