A delegation from Dutch shipbuilding company Damen Shipyards, led by Commercial Director Kommer Damen, visited the Balkan shipbuilding and repair yard in western Turkmenistan on Tuesday to discuss potential collaboration in producing river dredgers.
During the visit, Damen representatives engaged in talks with the leadership of Turkmenistan’s Agency for Maritime and River Transport, Türkmendeňizderýaýollary, and the shipyard administration. The foreign specialists also reviewed the facility's current projects, including the construction of two new bulk carriers, as reported by official media in Turkmenistan.
River dredgers are specialized vessels designed for dredging operations on rivers. They are used to clear or deepen riverbeds, water bodies, and canals, as well as to extract sand, gravel, and other construction materials from the bottom.
